As Viridor's Director of Engineering, Stephen was responsible for setting the engineering performance specification, and oversight of the EPC contract negotiations. Stephen set up Viridor's Major Project Governance systems and structures to support the successful and timely completion of this project. Stephen led the team that implemented client side delivery of planning and permit obligations, grid and other utility connections.

Energy from Waste

SUMMARY

Peterborough energy from waste plant is a 7.25MW power plant running on 85,000 tpa of post recycled residual waste. It incorporates a single line combustion grate based on BMV dynagrate technology, with a water tube boiler, supplied by EPC contractor Interserve/Vollund. FGT treatment is by lime and activated carbon injection. This £74M capital investment was built on the back of Viridor's successful bid for the Peterborough residual waste contract.
